REVIEW:
Brasilian band Divine Symphony are back with a second album, and Woah! what an improvement! Musically this is symphonic black metal in the veins of Dimmu Borgir or Vaakevandring, and the biggest change to the better is the production. These guys are now one of the leaders of Christian black metal!,Following up on their debut album in 2004 on Extreme Records entitled Reject Darkness, Brazil's symphonic black metal band Divine Symphony have at last unveiled their sophomore release titled The History. The controversial cover artwork is vivid and easily misunderstood. Demonic spirits enshroud an inverted cross with a depiction of an impaled Jesus on it. Most often blasphemous imagery like this has been suited for the equivalent of Satanic oriented bands. The metal is grandiose in so many ways. It has massive elements that make Dimmu Borgir so musically enticing and the power to back it up. The pace changes with smooth rhythms and is super - charged with whirling drums, Flying Guitars, and a wonderful melding of growl with clean vocals! The History is very conceptual in lyrical structure and takes us on a journey through some crucial times in the history of mankind (spiritually) and dissects the spiritual warfare on - goings of the events while shedding a light of hope into a darkness that surrounds the existence of humankind. Fans of Dimmu Borgir, Dark Funeral, Gorgoroth, Behemoth, Emperor, Borgazur, Grave Declaration, Antestor, and the likes will want to indulge into this Divine Symphony!a very huge christian metal scene with 100s of Christian Metal bands! One of the best ones hailing from this country is Divine Symphony. Reject Darkness is their debut album filled with symphonic black metal. What's really cool with Divine Symphony is their variation and mix of different metal influences. While the base of the band's sound is fast and brutal black metal it also contains plenty of symphonic and melodic influences from 80s metal etc that gives them a sound of their own. A cool album from a promising band(http://www.holymetalrob.com/)
