Oil Is A Christian Thrah Metal Band From Long Beach,California.
They released a self-titled debut album in 1997, a second album called Refine in 2000 and a live album Choice Cuts Off The Chopping Block in 2003.About Refine.After the release of their critically acclaimed self-titled EP,The Oil EP is my favorite of all their releases. Whereas Refine and the new songs on Chopping Block were a bit more in the metalcore/nu-metal area, the EP was an excellent mixture of straight forward heavy metal , thrash and groove. Great stuff. It's a shame this EP was so limited in it's release. Ron's vocals are powerful here. The songs are slower than his former band Dark Angel, so he has a bit more time to breathe. (Though personally, I love his voice with Dark Angel).OIL makes their debut on Kalubon Records with their new album "Refine". From start to finish, expect brutal power groove.
